New Dawn Mentorship is a biblical value-based life skills program. While most parents ably provide for academic excellence, they need a trusted partner to provide a safe interactive social community guided by biblical principles for their children. We partner with them and other stakeholders to raise an empowered and godly generation.
BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
The New Dawn Mentorship Program was founded in 2001 by Mrs. Irene Tongoi and was officially launched on December 4th, 2004. It was designed as a response to traditional methods of communication that were aimed at behavior and attitude formation for pre-teens, using their sexuality as an entry point.
We do this by drawing from biblical principles to positively influence pre-teens with life skills, knowledge, and attitude toward sexuality and healthy relational skills.
Mrs. Irene Tongoi, the Executive Director, works with an able team of Program Managers in charge of Training, Marketing, and Administrators

MEET OUR STAFF
Irene Tongoi
Founder & Executive Director
Irene Tongoi is the Founder and Executive Director of New Dawn Kenya. Being deeply convinced that biblical principles are the sure foundation for a successful life, she raised her three grown up children (all married) on them and all the mentoring she does is based on them. She’s eager to see her 4 grandchildren’s generation raised on the same. Irene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Kenyatta University, 1980) and an Executive Master’s in Business (Copenhagen Business School, 2012)
Ann Njeri Muturi
Marketing officer
Ann Njeri is a born again Christian, she is a graduate of the University of Nairobi where she pursued her undergraduate in bachelor of arts in psychology, sociology and communication. She has been a mentor with New Dawn Kenya since 2013 and is passionate about young people and mentorship.
Wilfred Anunda
Teens Program Manager
Willis is a born-again, Youth Pastor and Life coach with more than 15 years experience in Youth and Teens ministry. He studied Biblical Theology and Youth Ministry at A.T.C Theological College USA. He has served as a chaplain in various high schools in Kenya and is passionate about Teenagers and mentorship. He serves in New Dawn as the Teens program manager.
Kennedy Wakwaya
Mentor
Kennedy Wakwaya is a born again Christian. He is a graduate of Maseno University where he pursued a degree in Environmental Science and development. He has been a mentor Since 2014 and has worked with Preteens. He is passionate about helping them gain transformative life skills. Kennedy is also an accomplished musician and plays different sets of instruments.
